1999 : The Existence

Late 1999, I was back in the suburbs called Kuala Pilah, the small town I was born and partly grew up in. I was transferred to a college there and met Isey Kambing from Kelantan. We were damn bored, so we sneaked out from the hostel, walked almost a mile thru the bushes in a palm oil plantation and got on a bus to the 'cowboy' town. Almost everyday, we hanged out at my close friend's place, Atoi who had a studio and jammed just the two of us. We formed our own two-man band called Noviq which was a mess of garage-punk-grunge. Isey played drums and i played guitar. We did our own songs and Noviq ended as Isey was on to something else. So i continued hanging and squating at Atoi's place.

Atoi was starting up to experiment recording bands at his studio. He offered me to record for free at his studio. Tom(The Bollocks) and Arel(Spirakel) encouraged me to get a band together and just record any songs there is. So as i was walking around back in the hostel, i heard somebody playing Operation Ivy songs using a 'kapok' guitar. I went in to the room and jammed kapok guitars with this guy, Toleb. We talked afterwards and Toleb agreed in forming a band. From then on we started to write a couple of songs. We then got Amir his room mate to play bass and i called up my buddy Achui(Ex-Happy Nightmare) to play drums. Achui was quite busy working, so Khuzai(The Bollocks) would jam with us some times.

We jammed then for two weeks and straight recorded live 5 songs. Achui couldnt come and record, so Along Tenggiling came in to take over the drums. We finished recording it the same night and came up with a name for the band, Pusher. It was chosen in respect for our close buddy who was busy pushing around that time. Atoi roughly mixed the songs and i dubbed 30 copies of it in to cassete and released it as Pusher's first demo called Kalihui : On the Same Ground.

2 months after the release, Pusher played its first gig at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. A gig called 'Punk and Skins Unite' with bands like Kluk-kluk, The Scruffys and others. Achui was still busy, so Toleb called up his friend Shimi(Freygyle) to session for the drums. From that day on Shimi played drums officially for Pusher till today.
